About
Touchline Games is a free collection of daily puzzles. Each game has one puzzle per day (UK time), the same for everyone, with an archive of past days, streaks and a shareable result. Progress is saved only in your browser.
Data sources
Every fact in these games comes from a public source. Nothing is made up. If a player's or country's data couldn't be sourced, it was left out.
- Countries (Outline, Border Hop, Higher or Lower: Population, Flag Five, Capital Run): shapes, centre points, land borders and population estimates (POP_EST, mostly 2019) from Natural Earth 1:50m Admin 0, public domain. Borders are worked out from the 1:50m shapes, so very short borders (for example Spain–Morocco at Ceuta and Melilla) may be missing.
- Capitals: Wikidata property P36 (current values). Countries with several official capitals accept any of them.
- Flags: the flag file linked from each country's Wikidata entry (P41), hosted on Wikimedia Commons. National flags are generally public domain. File names are listed in flag-credits.json.
- Football players (Football Grid, Connections, Higher or Lower: Goals): current squads (club, shirt number, position, nationality) from the current-squad lists on English Wikipedia club pages for the 2026–27 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, with birth years from Wikidata. Career clubs and league apps/goals come from each player's Wikipedia infobox, which counts league matches only. Retrieved 25 Oct 2026.
- Premier League Predictor: players, prices, gameweeks, deadlines, fixtures and points are loaded live from the official public Fantasy Premier League data. Unofficial; not affiliated with the Premier League.
- Football clubs (Club Clues): founding year, ground, capacity and nickname from each club's Wikipedia infobox. Retrieved 25 Oct 2026.
- Rugby (Rugby Grid, Higher or Lower: Test Caps): squads, positions, dates of birth, Test caps and clubs from the current-squad and recent call-up lists on each national rugby union team's English Wikipedia page, checked against Wikidata. Retrieved 25 Oct 2026.
Wikipedia and Wikidata text and data are used under CC BY-SA / CC0. Data can go out of date: transfers and caps change, and the game reflects the retrieval date.
